Looks Like Home To Me...

Or - this is how my future home would look like. Or will look like. You never know...
This is basically how I see a cozy elegant home.
I would be so happy at the end of the day, soaking in my rose bath...

Waiting for one...

Happy Summer Weekend!

My Vintage Idol

I have always loved Carole. And her style.
If she still was alive, she would be a number one style icon. I think.
I love especially her masculine style.

Carole became one of Hollywood's top comedy actresses in the 1930s.
It was a comedy, My Man Godfrey (1936) for which she received

an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination.
She married Clark Gable in 1939.
Carole was killed in a plane crash when returning from
a War Bond tour in 1942.
She was called the "Profane Angel"
because she was sweet but swore like a "f---ing sailor."

Pictures from here / here and here.

Amazing Apartment

Amazing apartment!
City apartment decorated in this country, beachy, cozy, bohemian and fresh style.
Nice mixture.

(obviously in Stockholm, the original link of Vision did not show it anymore).

Moonlight Sonata

My favourite, Sylvia Plath

( Mad Girl's Love Song  - read full here. )

Midsummer is the time when you're supposed to stay up.
This weekend it won't be difficult - with summer nights that are light
(only few hours of dark in Finland) and the super moon!

Super full moon shines brightly this weekend.

I do believe in the 'moon madness' - no matter what they say:)
Full moon always affects me.
It is 3:43 am here, no hope of sleep.
And it's totally light, the birds are singing.
I might have to go to the beach tomorrow and sleep there...

This music is one of the most beautiful classic pieces I know.
Maybe Mr. Sandman will greet me after I listen to this...

Buona Notte.
"Live by the sun. Love by the moon."

ps. "There is more to a "supermoon" than meets the eye."

Blog Fixed - Thank You Blogger!

I was so sad to open my blog today and find out most of my latest posts
didn't show the pictures but some grey circles :(
As I am not all that experienced (started only 6 months ago),
I was trying to get help from here and there.
Finally found the Blogger Forum - send my question there at 7:41 pm.
Got a reply at 9:46 pm.
It was all because I had stupidly changed some settings on my Picasa albums.
WOW! I am impressed by how fast I got assistance.
And it sorted out the problem immediately. So happy!!!
These Midsummer roses are for Mishka at the forum who helped me.

If this is for any help for someone, I include her reply here:

"All images uploaded through the Blogger upload feature are hosted on Picasaweb/Google Photos.
If you go to Picasaweb/Google Photos, you will see an album that is marked for your blog.
Have you changed any settings in your albums or on individual pictures?
The icon you are seeing indicates that the settings have been changed regarding
privacy of the images and therefore the url linking to them in the blog is no longer valid.
This can be done either at Google Photos/Picasaweb or through a sync'd mobile device, or Google+."

My Blog is under construction...

I have lost many pictures on my blog...

I don't know if some are due to copyright issues,
but I don't think so because many of my own photos are missing too.
I am  trying to figure out the problem.
The problem is with the latest posts, not all.
Hopefully I get this fixed soon.

Thanks for dropping by and see you later!

Midsummer Spell

Edward Robert Hughes - Midsummer Eve

"You will get good luck in finding a husband if you roll around naked
in a dew-sprinkled meadow.
Looking into a well or a pond while being nude
you can see your future husband's face."

"If you collect 7 flowers from 7 different meadows
and sleep with the flowers under your pillow,
you will dream about your future fiancé."

Tomorrow is Midsummer Eve. I need to start looking now...
This photo is my own and from last summer.

Other Midsummer Superstitions

Here are some superstitions that people especially in the olden times took quite seriously.
Girls were so anxious to meet their future husband, that they believed in all kinds of superstitions.
All these tricks needed to be conjured at Midsummer Night.

~ If you walk around a three-sided field naked, on the third round
you will meet your future husband.

~ If you sweep your bedroom floor naked with only a red thread on your waist
your future husband's spirit will visit you.

~ You can have a dream of your future husband if you go to sleep
with a left foot sock on inside out.

~ The smoke from the Midsummer Bonfire will turn to the girl
who will get married next.

~ The top of the Midsummer Bonfire will fall down in the direction of the house
where the next bride lives.

~ Put two mirrors facing each other and you can see your future partner in the other mirror.

~ If you run clockwise around the biggest rock on the yard with a bible in hand
during Midsummer Eve,
then if you return at night you'll see your future husband.

~ Listen to the call of the cuckoo, how many times you hear it,
that many years you have to wait for your husband.
If you can't hear any, then you'll meet your husband this year.

~ Sleep with a coin under your head and in the morning get up
and start walking on the street.
First man to come across will be your husband.

Happy Midsummer!
